Hours are sporatic, pay is horrible, advancement isn't much of an option, customers are abusive and policies enforce their "right" to treat you badly, most every place I've worked at has had someone crooked in management that hurts the work environment, and seems to be getting closer to food service with each passing year.
I firmly believe that EVERYONE no matter who they are should work entry level retail and/or food service for at least one year before they can get any better job. If that was the case people would probably be alot more well behaved when when they go into any of those businesses.
Oh well, I might start drawing more comics and maybe get into another career all together. Time will tell.

Seriously, jobs suck. Sorry to hear you're going through the suckage. I'm rooting for ya, tho.

"only five people will come in today, and they will all buy sweaters." Ok, maybe it won't...replace sweaters with an expensive item...But it might also just be a good way to entertain yourself while your job sucks. Good luck avoiding the suckage.

P.S.
I am in your base! I am killing your mans!
Working in back doing nothing but freight = good day. Out on the floor dealing with customers on a busy day = bad day.
I'd have to say my best job, weird as it may seem, was the time I was a garbage collector. Great hours, proper work, and NO CUSTOMERS. The two drawbacks: The weather and blowing your nose in the shower, afterwards.
One day your lot will improve and then you can look back and say, "how did I ever survive those ass-holes?"
And when you do, know that those who care about you will always be there, in one form or another.
