Doctors

This is one thing that I have always been nervous about.

Doctors.

I know they help you get to the root of a problem and help you get better but there are certain things that make me a little uneasy at times.

One is I'm trans and I know how some can react badly to that , last thing I need is a doctor to do so. When you say "Doctor, I think there might be something up with my prostate." you can almost hear the record skip.

Another is are they crazy? Going to a new doctor has enough scariness with the trans issue to overcome but even if they do react good to that tehy still might be crazy. They might put you on all sorts of different medications to try and "solve" the problem only to cause more with side effects.

Staff is always an issue. Are they friendly or are they nothing but greasy old hags that get upset by you interrupting their day with your presence. More and more abrasive each time you go in too.

I have an appointment with a new doctor tomorrow so this is why I'm talking about this. Going to see about getting some issues resolved that have been waiting far too long to be done about.

Then I have to start it all over again with a dentist and probably an oral surgeon (wisdom teeth).

Damn wisdom teeth, I know how they can be.

I took you seriously until I saw your name.
Wisdom teeth, ouch. And yes, some docs and their support staff can be jerks.
Before i began HRT i went to a doctor to request help in beginning on the hormones an such, i'm sure the record didn't skip but it fell off the player :)
his response lived up to his last name (panika). It's lucky for him i was in a happy mood at the time :)

Dental stuff ..ummm EEK!
I remember having my wisdoms yanked...not pleasant. Jaw hurt for a week.
I haven't had any problems with doctors...yet. It will be interesting when I do go in for a physical tho.

"I think I used to have a voice, now I never make a sound.
I just do what I've been told...I really don't want them to come around...oh, no."
nine inch nails: everyday is exactly the same
Mmm... Wisdom Teeth. I still have mine. They're on my desk in a plastic bag. I haven't decided what I want to do with them.
the only thing i clearly remember about getting my wisdom teeth out, strangely enough, was that my first thought when i came to was "when did we put that border up in my room?"

as for the doctor, here's hoping you get someone who's both understanding and sane. *nods*
